Meet The Choreographer

Sofia Saenz is a Los Angeles native who began her dance training at Pasadena Dance Theatre under Cynthia Young before moving to New York to earn her degree in dance and business from Skidmore College. There, she was mentored by Erika Pujic and Jason Ohlberg, performing multiple works including Take Hold and The Crossing, as well as Paul Taylor’s Runes. In 2021, she premiered her dance film Como Dice Mi Padre, marking a shift toward choreography. Upon returning to LA, Sofia founded ChoCoLA (Choreographer Collection Los Angeles), a platform dedicated to uplifting choreographic voices and building community. She continues to dance, choreograph, and cultivate an encouraging artistic community.
